Collection Overview
The A. George Davis 1980 Winter Olympic Games Papers consist of correspondence, tickets, identification tags, newspapers, magazine, score sheets, handbooks, ephemera of A. George Davis during the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympic Games. Of note is the penalty record for the ice hockey game between Russia and the USA on February 22, 1980, when the US upset Russia in a score of 4-3 and commonly referred to as the Miracle on Ice. Davis was the Penalty Timer for hockey games. The records were donated to the Potsdam Museum in October 2023.
