Collection Overview

This collection consists of family papers and memorabilia from the family of Jane Reynolds Pretat. It includes information about the Reynolds, Safford, Wing and Sisson families of Potsdam, N. Y. 

The collection included Sisson family correspondence going back to the 1830s, three genealogy charts, a scrapbook made by Jane when she was in 8th grade at the practice school in Potsdam, two smaller scrapbooks, family ephemera, and other genealogical information, along with several photographs.

Strengths of the collection can be found in the genealogical material present throughout the collection in its scrapbooks, newspaper clipping, and charts. Of special interest within the collection is a transcription for the 1907 diary for Manon G. Sisson which may provide in greater detail information about the lives of the Sisson family that may be unavailable elsewhere.
