Archival Collections
Here are the archival collections of the Potsdam Public Museum. Those collections with finding aids are listed here. Others will be added to this list as they are completed. Please contact us about any further questions you may have about our collections.
The E. Harold Cole Scrapbook Collection contains two scrapbooks made up of newspaper clippings, programs, photographs, financial documents, and a certificate and note documenting activities at the Potsdam High School and the students attending the school during the period of 1930-1945.
The Linda Richards Collection contains books, booklets, framed photographs, pictures, a scrapbook album, certificates, catalogs, manuscripts, newspapers, quarterlies, clippings, correspondences, and ephemeral material related to Linda Richards and her life work. The material ranges from 1873-2015, but the bulk of the material is dated from 1940-1970.
The Potsdam Public Library Patron Register Records contain bound volumes documenting names, addresses, and other information of library patrons of the Potsdam Public Library in Potsdam, New York during a portion of the 20th century.
The Dwyer Family Papers contain programs, dance cards, newspaper clippings, school newspapers & handbooks, certificates, identification cards, sports related badges & patches mainly related to the Congdon Campus School, Potsdam High School, Potsdam sports, including Clarkson Hockey, the Potsdam Ice Carnival and PHS Reunions. Date ranges of the papers extend from 1933-2008, with the bulk of the material ranging from 1945-1965.
The Willis Family Papers contain papers, both business and personal, which belonged to the family of Blanche Willis Trerise of Parishville, NY. Included are invitations, invoices, receipts, a menu, a ticket and some ephemera ranging from 1888-1913 with the bulk of the dates between 1892-1895.
